FISCAL Technologies’ User Group
Best-in-Class accounts payable becomes more achievable with FISCAL’s help

Reading, UK – 14th October
2011: FISCAL Technologies’ world-class accounts payable audit software providers, held their 4th annual user group conference on 9th and 10th October in the beautiful surroundings of Wokefield Park, Reading. The event, primarily aimed at new users of FISCAL software, attracted 30 attendees over the two days, from organisations as diverse as Virgin Atlantic to Bracknell Forest Council. Accounts Payable professionals came to hear inspirational speakers with real life AP turnaround situations and to network with their peers. FISCAL invited them to attend because as an organisation they remain committed to making sure end users maximise the potential of their product, and are passionate about ensuring their customers have the capacity to become Best-in-Class.

David Griffiths, Director of Customer Development for FISCAL presented “The Characteristics of a Best-in-Class AP Team” to the group, and outlined key areas often overlooked by many. Attendees were then asked to share their own experiences, producing some interesting and informative results, enabling them to benchmark against their peers. With almost half of attendees highlighting that they either never, or only once in 5 years, carried out a full AP audit – many realised the significance of not being able to manage what isn’t measured.

Attendees were treated to an outline of the ongoing development of FISCAL by Lesley Reeve, Director of Customer Success. With many of the recommendations for the latest product version coming from end users during last year’s user group meeting, Lesley was pleased to run through the features of version 5. By providing users with features that make sense, are pertinent, cost effective and which protect payments at source, FISCAL was able to demonstrate that their “people first”, practical solutions remain their driving force.

The second day afternoon session was devoted to small discussion groups, or learning labs during which attendees discussed the latest trends, issues and successes within their organisation’s AP departments. In addition FISCAL reported that they provided a good focus for attendees to draw up a “wish list” of features for the next version of the product, ensuring that FISCAL’s solution remains one which is intuitive and responsive to the precise needs and wants of accounts payable today.

With time for evening entertainment, prizes and awards, set within the beautiful Georgian surroundings of Wokefield Park, the event proved to be a success on all fronts prompting Garry Stevens from Aberdeen City Council to say:

“Well done to you and the team in organising an excellent user group meeting, I took away a lot of areas to think about for my team around Best Practice, it is really good to share ideas with like-minded people.”

While Emma Emery of East Kent NHS Finance Consortium said simply: “Inspiring. I always leave with a renewed vigour to improve more and more.”

David Griffiths, Director of Customer Development went on to say; “We’ve had some fantastic speakers this year, excellent participation from attendees and have come away with even closer knowledge of our customers and their needs. A very enjoyable, fun-filled and productive two days.”
